Puppy Preschool - A good start to a great dog. 4-week course for dogs 7-20 weeks of age
SOCIALIZATION: To make fit for companionship with others and convert or adapt to the needs of society. This is a continuing process whereby a dog acquires its personal identity and learns the norms of behavior to fit into our domesticated lifestyle. It is in this critical period that most puppies develop 90% of their attitudes and opinions towards people, other animals and their environment. This early start helps prevent future behavioral problems.
HANDLING EXERCISES: These exercises prepare your dog for real-world events such as vet visits and grooming.
PUPPY REQUESTS: An introduction to obedience using positive reinforcement. We cover sit, down, come and release.
MANNERS: Techniques introduced to address jumping, pulling on leash and inappropriate chewing.
Q&A/GROUP DISCUSSION: Covers house-training, play biting, basic first aid, proper grooming and care, dietary counseling and appropriate toys.
SUPERVISED PUPPY PLAYTIME: Dog to dog
Puppy class course also includes
Informational handouts, graduate certificate, and free evaluation for one-on-one obedience training. (Free evaluation expires 2 weeks after date of Puppy Preschool Graduation.)
